Merit Badges p12-22. Open activities p24. Basic Schedule p27. Class Schedule p37
Make sure when selecting your merit badges, they fit on the schedule. You may be limited on what you take based on the time(s) they are available. Look at p37 on the guide or use this link

You should have received a packing list at the last meeting; however, an example one is available here. Note: The camp is providing tents, cots, and mattresses, so you do not need to bring that. You can chose to bring a sleeping bag, or just bring sheets and a pillow.  Pack a small backpack with a change of clothes, swimsuit, towel and toiletries. This bag will be used on the night before camp and then right when they get to camp for the swim test. This way everything is easy to find and they don't have to dig through their Action Packer / Footlocker.

If you are a new scout attending the Second Class/First Class classes, you will also need to bring Rope-20 feet(¼“). Look over the merit badges you selected and see if there is any specific gear required or costs.

Travel Fee (Gas): $50

Travel Meals: $50+ (8 meals)

Arrowman Bash - April 1-3

The below event will take the place of our April Troop Campout

April 1-3, 2016
Bovay Scout Ranch

All Scouts and Scouters are invited to join the Order of the Arrow (OA) for the 2016 Arrowman Bash at Bovay Scout Ranch on April 1-3 2016. For the first time ever, the OA is opening the entire weekend to all the members of the troop.  It is our goal to give the Houston scouting community the opportunity to learn more about the OA, advance in scouting skills and have fun!

We have engaged our most experienced Arrowmen to create an exciting program for the OA members and visitors. The weekend is designed with something for everyone in your troop:

  • OA candidates can complete the Ordeal.
  • Current OA members have the opportunity to give back to camp by serving as an elangomat, guide for candidates completing the Ordeal, and attend a Brotherhood ceremony signifying full membership in the OA (eligibility requirements apply).
  • Young scouts can work on their path to First Class at the Skills Discovery Camp.
  • Adults will  have the opportunity to gather and exchange ideas and learn more on how the OA can help improve your troop program.

Our weekend will start on Friday evening with check-in, send off of Ordeal candidates and elangomats, and opening show. Saturday will start with Skills Discovery Camp and the Scoutmaster Forum for adults.  Later in the day we will welcome back new the Ordeal members and have a fun evening with events like shotgun and rifle shooting, canoeing, and climbing just to mention a few.

The event fee will include all activites and meals.  More information, including the finalized fee, and registration for individuals or troops will be available no later than March 1, 2016 at the link below.

We look forward to seeing you and your entire troop at Arrowman Bash 2016!
